Service To The Community

A letter of appreciation from a grateful client…DSC01664For each of the past four years, Allied Video Services has donated considerable time and talent to the production of our American Red Cross of Southeastern Virginia Fundraising videos.

Dear Rory,

In every one of the productions, your photographers and editors did a superb job in capturing the emotional side of our Red Cross work in the community. What impressed us most was the time and the commitment you devoted to a production that would build both awareness and support of our mission.
We very much appreciated that first you took the time to listen. You learned about our services, the audience for the video, and the type of appeals that connect with our donors and supporters, and then developed a strategy on how we could best combine local interviews with supporting footage available from our national headquarters. The interviews with our clients, staff and volunteers you enhanced using those virtual sets looked great!
Everything came together in the edit suite with Gary. He is a very talented, creative and patient editor who assembled the words, music and images into a dynamic video which had a major impact on all who saw it.
No other medium could have done this for us, and it brought our audiences a new understanding of our work and helped us build new relationships for future support.Allied Video Services is always a pleasure to work with. You delivered on all commitments and deadlines and helped the Red Cross tell its story, make its case, and do it all in a way which was far beyond our expectations.   Please accept our since appreciation for your commitment to our success,  and pass along a special thanks to your fine staff who made it all possible!

Allied Video Services Donates a PSA in Support of the Tim Reid Scholarship

DSC00197I know him as “Venus Flytrap” from the show WKRP in Cincinnati but, you may know him from “That 70’s Show”, “Simon and Simon”, “Frank’s Place” or “Sister Sister”. I first met Tim Reid 3 years ago and have supported his charity each year since with donated PSA’s and at times additional video services.

Each May, Tim and his wife Daphne, who is also an actor (“Fresh Prince of Bel Air”), bring a group of actors and sports celebrities to Hampton Roads. Will Smith was one of them a few years ago.

The Virginia Scholarship and Youth Development Foundation (VSYDF) is a non-profit organization that had its beginning in 1990 when Tim and Daphne Reid formed the Tim Reid Scholarship Foundation. The foundation’s mission is to create “Universal Understanding Through Education”. The Foundation accomplishes this by raising funds to award scholarships to deserving, at-risk and needy high school students.

We here at Allied Video Services are proud to lend our talents to a worthy cause.

Tim says,”Our scholarship recipients are truly trying to make a better life for themselves and their families. Many are the first in their families to attend and obtain a college education. We currently have twenty-four (24) students attending eleven (11) different colleges and universities. With your help, we can continue to assist these students and many more by continuing to raise funds and making the dream of a college education.”

Virginia Beach Free Clinic Gets the Help They Need

Executive Director Susan Hellstrom:”Your generosity has provided the clinic with a video that will be used for many different occasions and events, and it will help us convey our needs and our mission to the community for years to come.”

Helping Pediatric Life Skill Specialists do the Impossible

MemoriesYou can feel helpless watching a child with cerebral palsy struggle to sit up or walk. But Allied Video Services donated the production of four videos that captured the progress that these children are making with a new form of therapy called “conductive education”. AVS also designed a web site for them to feature the videos as well as to educate and enroll others in their program.

Director Judith Roth wrote, “Your expertise, time and energy that you put into this project resulted in four heart-warming stories. Although I know these children and their history, even I got teary-eyed watching the short clips. You are a very talented filmmaker, and we truly feel honored to be given the opportunity to work with you.”
